31 for 21 -- Down Syndrome Awareness Month -- Day 1

Today is October 1 (I know, I'm getting to this late...), which is the beginning of Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

I'm going to post something about Ds here every day this month, so stay tuned...

First, I want to encourage anyone/everyone who knows me to ask about John Michael and Down syndrome. Ask me what it's like... ask me about him and his abilities... it's OK. I LOVE to talk about him. And,... if you catch me on a bad day, that's OK, too. It's not all roses all the time (as with any child), but John Michael makes the world a better place and I wish more of my friends would feel more comfortable talking about it. I won't be offended, and I won't make you feel bad if you don't know "People First Language."
